Kindergarten and elementary school work hand in hand, and the elementary school is in charge of working on the children’s process from the point where they left off in preschool.
In 1st and 2nd grade, we evaluate the students’ competencies based on a qualitative report, just as in kindergarten and pre-kindergarten.
The rituals that the children become familiarized with during kindergarten continue to accompany their daily life in 1st grade, such as the sign of silence with the Tibetan singing bowl (Ruhesignal), the morning routines (Morgenkreis), and library visits.
The systematic use of the same vocabulary and expressions builds the children’s confidence. It aims to consolidate the active use of German as a foreign language in both kindergarten and elementary school.
