My experience with Microsoft started in pandemic as a response to the need of facilitating a continuous learning to my students using tools that not only helped them acquire new knowledge, but that were interactive so they would always be motivated and could feel as if they were in the classroom with their classmates.
To achieve this, I used several Microsoft tools. One of them was Teams, where I could organize 3 small groups of 5 students, instead of a big group of 15 students. Since it was semi-personalized, it enhanced the children’s interaction with the learning process. During these lessons, we used Pizarra and PowerPoint to work in different topics in German, such as numbers from 1 to 10 and farm vocabulary. In these, the children had to identify numbers and animals, play interactive games with their classmates, relate numbers with quantities, thus developing the abilities of 21CLD like critical thinking, creativity, and communication. Additionally, the children worked with educational material from home (paper numbers and figures) while they watched the instructions through Teams. They also used some of their toys (Lego pieces) to receive explanations and answer questions to evaluate their knowledge.
Earning this certification as innovative teacher expert in Microsoft technologies, gave me great satisfaction because it challenged me to improve my technology abilities, it enhanced my teaching process and finally, it gave me solid tools to train my colleagues so they could also improve their teaching experience.
