Wellbeing, healthy coexistence & Inclusion
Our Team
At Colegio Andino, Mutual Care is the thread that connects our community and the foundation of all our work — a shared commitment among students, teachers, families, and administrative staff to foster an environment where everyone grows together.
We support each student’s emotional and academic balance
We promote our students’ emotional wellbeing by helping them find a healthy balance between academic demands and their social and personal needs.

Areas of Focus
We promote respectful relationships and safe learning environments
As part of our Mutual Care approach, we foster a culture of respectful coexistence, empathy, and inclusion through preventive actions, pedagogical strategies, and our Student Mediator Program, which trains young leaders in conflict resolution.

Areas of Focus
We ensure equitable participation in school life
Our main goal is to guarantee that students with specific needs can fully and equally participate in school life. We also support teachers in implementing educational adaptations that reflect the diversity of learning styles.
Assisted Dog Intervention Program in a School Setting
The Dr. Hund Program promotes student wellbeing through structured activities with school dogs, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation, while strengthening students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Student Mediator Program
School mediation is a process rooted in respect, dialogue, and joint decision-making. It is a technique used to resolve conflicts between two or more people, where a trained mediator guides and supports those involved in finding constructive solutions, facilitating communication and negotiation.
Who are the Mediators?
The Mediator Program includes students from the Middle School and Secondary School. These students have received training in conflict resolution and are equipped with tools to support their peers in addressing everyday conflicts within the school environment.
of Mediation
Core Principles of Mediation
Voluntary participation: All parties choose freely whether or not to take part in the mediation process.
Decision-making through dialogue: The parties are empowered to make decisions regarding their conflict. The mediator does not impose any solutions — they are not a judge or an arbitrator.
Neutrality and impartiality: The mediator does not take sides.
Confidentiality: What is shared during the mediation remains private.
Mediation Process
Phases of the Mediation Process
Establish ground rules (build trust, show respect, listen actively, be honest).
Listen to each person’s version of events.
Identify common interests.
Explore alternative solutions, promote empathy and cooperation.
Reach mutually beneficial agreements and commitments.
Closure.
