House of Formation
The Casa de la Formación centers pedagogical development and teacher training at Colegio Andino.
With five basic projects, we provide our school with everything necessary to maintain our commitment to offering quality education to our students. Innovation in education, together with teacher training, are our priority.
Internal training:
Internally the school’s teachers are constantly researching their areas of management. These trainings are teacher to teacher, and sometimes external trainers are invited.
External trainings:
Teachers attend different courses, diploma courses, congresses, conferences on specific topics that they then share internally with their colleagues during the school year.
Educational support:
The deepening in specific topics leads teachers to complete master’s degrees and postgraduate courses. This project complements the quality and depth of the school’s educational management.
Regional trainings:
As a German School Abroad, we participate in training organized by the process accompanier delegated by Germany. Various courses on pedagogical development topics are organized from their headquarters at the German School in Quito.
ICT School:
The development of digital competencies and implementation of new technologies in the pedagogical field are the objectives of the Escuela Tic.
During the school year, the required courses and accompaniment are offered so that all teachers implement and use new technologies in the classroom appropriately and successfully.
The Teachers in Training Program prepares non-licensed professionals in all areas of methodology and didactics for teaching in their areas of expertise. During one year, professionals with a high German level receive training in pedagogy, general didactics, and specific didactics of their area to enter as permanent teachers the following school year.
The House of Formation actively participates in all the pedagogical workgroups that the school has, providing support to specific rectory projects and being a member of the Core Group.
From these instances, it is concerned with developing, implementing, and evaluating the school’s pedagogical projects and generating the proper training for all of the above to happen.
The House of Formation is the link with German universities that require educational internships for their students. For periods of 4 to 17 weeks, German pedagogical students do their internships with us.
This program is the implementation of new technologies and media in teaching at Colegio Andino. In this sense, different programs and approaches are developed by sections and grades. Students develop their digital competencies and learn with and from media and new technologies.
