The Future Today.
¡Ecological, healthy
and sustainable!
we want?
What do we want?
We want to become an environmentally conscious school that protects and promotes health and consistently focuses on sustainability.
We want the entire school community to identify strongly with the values and long-term goals of Colegio Andino.
We want to assume our responsibility for sustainability within the Colombian educational landscape and contribute to our students’ development of environmental awareness.
This sense of responsibility is why we also want to carry out a sustainable project with the school Centro Educativo SCALAS on their school grounds in the future because the care for the environment does not end at the borders of our school.
our goals?
How do we achieve our goals?
EVERYONE participates; children and students, educators and teachers, parents, employees, and the Colegio Andino board of directors.
ALL school groups assume their responsibility: the environmental group, the Student Council, the Parents’ Council, the Rectory, the Administrative Direction, the Board of Directors. Together they plan and organize various individual projects, from the initial idea on time and resource planning, through the implementation of the school community to the realization of the objectives and their evaluation.
The school has invested approximately 775,000 Euros in the various building measures for noise protection, thermal insulation, energy-saving measures, and the use of sustainable building materials alone.
from this?
Who benefits from this, who benefits from all the projects?
Our students helped initiate this project. Together with the strengthening of ecological and sustainability awareness, they are the focus of all individual tasks and the project altogether.
We encourage the initiative and independent work of our students. They are actively involved in all phases of the project and can take the initiative, plan, implement and evaluate additional subprojects at any time.
With our long-term project, we participated in the competition “Students build bridges around the world” 2019-20, organized by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce for German schools abroad, and won 1st place.
