The United Nations internal model, DESMUN Jr., seeks to generate critical thinking in 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students through a series of debates focused on current and past international issues. To carry out these debates and the corresponding research, peer education is developed. Students with more experience in this type of activity, who are currently in 10th to 12th grades, teach students in lower grades how to research and participate in different models.
DESMUN Jr. then functions as the DESMUN seedbed since most of the students who have participated in this project continue their participation in this type of activity.
