The project presented to Microsoft sought to encourage reading with tools of Office 365 and was developed by students of sixth grade during Spanish and information technology classes. The topics from the school curriculum of both subjects were used to plan this activity. To comply with the proposed learning objectives, they conceived a virtual material presented in the Sway platform of Office 365 to create webpages.
The importance of reading as a socialization tool, not only in their classes but also in their homes, must be an important element in the use of leisure time and an incentive for healthy reading habits. The teachers have used this as a tool to show other students from different levels interesting proposals for class. It has been suggested that this type of activity be developed in other levels in light of the results. The students’ different needs to develop dynamic and alternative works have facilitated the use of a wide range of technological tools to edit pictures, videos, share information and publish results.
We want to show the development of this project of interdisciplinary classroom, by using technological tools to bring technology closer to the school environment, offering our students new strategies to build knowledge from their individual interests.
