Home » Educational evaluation of the PED9 curriculum in a collaborative way using Microsoft technologies
From the beginning of the Digital Project in school’s high school, I have always wanted my students to develop collaborative work supported by technology. At first, I used Microsoft Word and PowerPoint online applications next to the work groups of Office 365, until we learned five years ago about the educational potential that Microsoft OneNote had. I migrated my collaborative work experiences to this platform and my students learned to make the most of the collaboration space together with the online applications.
On March of 2020, all of school’s teachers had the challenge of adapting the curriculum and educational practices to continue teaching at a distance, as a way to respond to the needs that the COVID19 pandemic brought. This way, and as García and others state (20141), teachers create “new activities and learning environments that would be impossible without the available technology,”
Microsoft Teams, OneNote Class Notebook, the online applications of Office 365 and the other applications that were able to articulate in a practical and simple way to the environment offered by Microsoft Teams, transformed into the new media to continue learning. Microsoft was not detached from this process, and every two to three months surprised us with new developments, so at the end of 2020 Microsoft includes in Teams the opportunity of creating rooms for getting together, named Breakout Rooms. In short, the experience that I documented and presented as nomination to MIE Expert was precisely how to use the new options of Microsoft Teams, OneNote, and PowerPoint online to promote collaborative work in the distance.
